When you said that on the first picture they wrote two words, did you mean これ in japanese cause that only one word in english. これは戦争 that's what I thought of your whole message and that's why you said two words for "THIS" one word for "is" But who knows ... Correct if i am wrong 😅

Yeah Rin is holding Shinji back. That's a part of the story's plot. I already mentioned that this is a story where the protagonist loses the will to take revenge a bit by bit... So, you can say Rin is one of the factors to that developement
