This is such a strong start! I've noticed how others pointed out this sounds like SAO but I personally would say it's clearly a better opening already~
Not only is there the dread of everyone being wiped out but you've already introduced a striking player for the cliffhanger!
Analyzing this as a writer, I'm glad I don't have to compete against you. I look forward to the intriguing characters and storyline! 😀
