THAT LAST LINE. Oh, I love the direction Kiro's interactions with Maia were taking. At first, I was a little worried that she would remain a two-dimensional bully character, but the part with her returning the Monsterpedia and now this conversation have been so refreshing to read! I so look forward to seeing more of Maia. I like that she's opening up more while still retaining that closed off, defensive gruffness. It makes the transition feel a lot more natural. Happily starting the Maia Park fan club over here!
Also, sheesh, this kid went on ONE date and was just blushing over an indirect kiss and now he's buying condoms?? Somebody needs to talk to this boy about realistic relationships expectations. Though from a strict characterization standpoint, it feels like a bit of a leap -- even if Kiro is influenced by a friend here, it feels extreme for him to go from mad butterflies over simply sharing a utensil last chapter to buying condoms in this one. The disconnect in his expectations and perspective may be intentional, but if so, I would work to clarify that further within this chapter or the next somehow.
Still, a very enjoyable chapter overall!
