Yes! Robotic birds would be totally terrifying to me in real life, I think haha I can't wait to read about yours! I've been bogged down by work recently 😭 But I love your story so far, so I'll get to finishing it soon~

Thanks for the feedback! I also wanted to add Eligh encountering the giant bears a second and third time, but I was worried about word count (1,000-1,500). I did write a second encounter, but I scrapped it... I'm actually a very 'verbose' writer, so starting the contest late with this short deadline really did me in 😂 I challenged myself to use less description, internal monologues, etc. and instead try to move the story along mostly with dialogue and spurts of action/events. Idk if it was a good move, but I tried! haha

Honestly, you're spot on about Tessa and it bothered me as well. I had several other scenes written or planned for the purpose of fleshing her out more, but it eventually didn't happen much. So, I just committed to her being a plot device for Mara and Eligh 😭

Honestly, Jordan is the greatest nuisance I have ever written. I am proud of him for serving his purpose 😂

I SAID THE SAME THING AS I WROTE IT. I even told myself, "This is waaay too convenient." But yes, the deadline had me doing crazy things 🥲 On one hand, I'm grateful to contest deadlines because they help me actually finish things! On the other hand, they freak me out because I write a lot and I write slow... haha! I also think time travel would have been awesome.

Thanks for the advice! I hadn't thought about that in terms of the rules. Scattering the announcer's commentary throughout the games like in a real broadcast had concerned me, but my writing game is slowwww and the deadline was close, so I made some sacrifices for my sanity 🥲 I'll keep this in mind for the next time I write something like this! :)

Oh no, that I understood! You explained well that they once lived together and that's how they'd had contact. But I think at one point in the novel Liane/Liam (I can't exactly remember when) said that he hadn't seen her in years? Or something like that, and since he knew where she lived, I thought he'd been able to visit her before! I'm not even sure anymore if I'd seen that, but that's the conclusion I had come to 😂

Wow the demisphere sounds so cool! I'd love that in my backyard. Imagine the solo field trips you could go on haha It's also interesting how the System would allow them to travel abroad! I was beginning to suspect the System to isolate and entrap everyone while limiting movement that would potentially let them meet others

Liane's plan to patch up a broken relationship with her estranged daughter absolutely sucks and suggests an egotistical side to the old Liam that probably explains the reason they have a strange relationship in the first place LOL My only question is, how had they been in contact with one another in the first place if the System keeps people away? Like, what is the criteria for being able to meet up with someone real in a world like this? 🧐
