I forgot to comment about the drug they're taking being called BILE in the last chapter. That's so fitting and disturbing 🤢 haha It's great to see Shiro choosing to go out of her way to help Elias here. She really does just want to do what she thinks is right. She never begins with intentions of hurting any of her passengers. I wonder what her end goal is!

My favorite parts about your writing, and writing in general, is in the little parts. Like the way the red of the emergency lights catch Shiro's hair when she doscovers Lawrence trying to sabotage the ship. It gives such a serious mood without all the words to describe it ☺️ P.S. I have a feeling Shiro won't kill him? She seemed to have related to him a bit, or at the least pitied him!

It's 1% read trade and 99% that I truly really enjoy your story and want to read it through fully! I'm just horrible at budgeting my time right now. My students are preparing for big-kid testing and I feel like I haven't taught them enough so I'm going ham on trying to amp up my lessons 🙃 LOL

Friend is really just the embodiment of Shiro's desire to have someone trustworthy to rely on/let in, in my mind. I wonder what happened in her past to force her away from people and trust, and also what happened to the naive friend (whose memory likely haunts her enough to name a stray, unmodified and therefore still living chicken 'friend').

Aw! I enjoy Friend 🧡 It gives so much humanity to Shiro that I bet Shiro herself doesn't even realize. The stowaway is certainly "clucky" that Friend cozied up to him (sorry, I couldn't help myself 🤦🏾‍♀️ lol)! Also, I just thought of this just now, but naming the chicken Friend makes me think of the Bird Box mom naming her kids Boy and Girl 😂

Why do I love this chapter so much?? haha I love the focused view on Friend, just bringing home the fact that she's a REAL chicken in this world of mechanical or mechanically modified animals and beings. It's nice to see Shiro accompanied by such a lively character like Friend. Although Shiro doesn't change, it still gives her a more human-like quality.
