I wouldn't say that the Demon Lord is an idea of evil literally. It is still a living being rather than an abstract idea taken form.

Oh, I do enjoy these speculations. If it's because of the emote I used, I just thought that it looked like someone doing some deep thinking. Though, now that I look at it, it does seem like a mean face.

Personally, I prefer a gradual increase in power myself. It gets harder and harder to write interesting challenges as the story goes on if the protagonist starts overpowered, after all.
