Grace as a character was always meant to grow more and more detached from humanity over time. It's seen with how Haru and Ryuji see her a beloved person to begin with, but as things go on, she becomes more of a concept that they eventually let go of. Haru frees her, rather than using her attachment to stay close to him. Ryuji stops seeing her as Ojou. Grace has moved beyond them and they acknowledge that.

Honestly, I wrote this book purely to work on fight scenes and fulfill my pseudo-Yakuza fanfic desire. I had wanted to do that ever since I thought of how to kill off Grace in the first book. 🫠

Anyways, if I do end up writing a Grace 3, it would probably be another crazy genre shift. I did jokingly think of a scenario where another MC would arrive at a space station where everyone is dead, only to find the AI Grace. 😏
