You know what? Reading your story has made me realize what my story lacks: vivid descriptions of my characters. I just realized that I wasn't able to physically describe my characters well. I was so focused on the plot and finishing the story that I wasn't sure if I already described my people. Or maybe I just assumed that the readers would have a mental image of my characters.

I used to read novels mentioning tribes like the Sioux, though I can't remember where they originated. I'm not so familiar with Celtic or Germanic words, but I'm always curious about their lores, beliefs, and traditions.

I wonder where you get the names from. They sound unique. I always struggle with naming my characters. This is an interesting start.

By the way, "karga" in our language is a verb that means "to carry (especially carrying a baby)."

According to our folklore, you would know if someone was attacked by an aswang if the found dead body's stomach was wide open and the entrails were out but the liver and heart were missing. In the case of a pregnant woman, the fetus would be gone.

Also, based on the horror stories I listen to, aswangs leave marks all over their potential victim's house. The marks are not visible to the naked eyes of normal people, but those with sixth sense, especially the healer, can see them.
