Another nice chapter. I was surprised that Aki was separated from Rina and Selene. I am sure she wasn’t happy about that. There is no bridge across the river? I was under the impression they were following a main road.

That fits. She has a very strong connection to both Rina and Selene. I sometimes wondering if that is by choice, or influenced by the fact that they used a form of blood magic to keep Aki alive. Either way, she is an interesting character.
