The initial half of this chapter once again is dealing with Elisabeth's inner conflict, we as the readers, if we haven't already realised, are coming along with her to realise that she indeed does feel a lot better as a woman. She's happy being Elisabeth, happy being a "helpless damsel".
She's experiencing social bliss being in the situation she's in, having people recognize her for what she possibly has been striving for, for a long while.
Elisabeth and Marie both being willing to essentially ignore their Kings' orders / morals, also does speak a lot for their dynamic. It makes sense that Elisabeth wishes to learn magic, especially when it comes to self protection and support, it's perfectly written into her character.
I am also very glad that Marie is willing to let Diana teach her fighting. It seems this way we are essentially being told who Elisabeth's main love interest will be, without directly telling us, in a natural and good way.
I've been majorly enjoying this Novel, the writings' style, the descriptiveness of the scenes, the intercharacter dynamics, they're all incredibly well executed, and I can not wait to see the romance blossom!
