I feel like there are only so many chances to do this testing loop Ishikawa causes a hazard, our team deals with it, we feel concern that the next one is going to be worse. At some point, this must move with purpose.

I also can't decide quite how to feel about the civic response, or lack thereof. On one side, it's obvious that powered infrastructure is a huge problem, but on the other side having a blackout somewhere like Tokyo in a forced sense would be a pretty huge problem as well.

One must wonder to what end Ishikawa is "testing" anyone. Things to be revealed later, of course, but I feel like it might be interesting to know what a reader is thinking at any point, and right now it's that they've yet to really figure out what Ishikawa's game is.

Adding the authorities rarely goes well for heroes of the kind we have here. But then, they seem to know that. Some things are simply inevitable, like having to deal with a baited trap when there's actual bait.

Hoping the master legitimately needs our pair for his plans, because the way they're being set up rather than crushed really feels like it. Of course, we have limited idea what those plans are other than that they probably have something to do with what he decided to spew about evolution and transforming humans back in the encounter with Renji. Seems like a very nuts visionary villain, which is an archetype that can be really enjoyable to watch.

Mom is pretty accepting of this all. Bring a boy home, something abotu saving the world. Well, I mean we know we're going to get the teamup, so how much do you really want to see folks fight it? I feel like that may have also informed getting the leads to team up in fairly short order.

And there's the main antagonist! Not really a surprise that it's the disappeared professor. Nice and relevant that he's an electric being. Classical god complex, and seemingly prey to the arrogant "I'll kill you later" bug that gets evil overlords trounced.

Don't take that harshly -- these tropes repeat because they tend to be pretty darn fun. There's a lot of "cape" energy in this one, and while I normally don't enjoy Western superheroing, this is divorced enough that I still find it charming.

I like Hina has a family, and her family members matter to her. It's all too easy to not have your characters in this sort of story have important, normal bonds. But it tends to make for stronger stories when they do.

Conjuring swords is always a nice ability to discover. The plot beat here feels like it does what it has to in order to get Izanami situated.

As much as I could gripe about word choice, tense agreement, and variety in action, this chapter was absolutely a step up. It is interesting how Izanami has gone along with things without really getting the tutorial, but at least now we have that more or less on board, along with getting a name for Noktu
