As a proud Black anime fan, I am saddened by the lack of representation of Black characters and darker skin tones in anime media. I wrote my novel with a Black female lead and a diverse cast of characters in skin tones not out of tokenism or representation for the sake of representation, but because I believe that representation matters and want to be the change that I want to see through well-written and powerful Black and brown characters. My goal is to create a vast world chock-full of lore and depth, a world where people of numerous backgrounds can see themselves reflected in an empowering, validating, non-stereotypical manner. I am an author of over 750k words of serialized fiction, relaunching my 400+ chapter epic for a new 2026 audience.
