This first chapter, despite having a certain aura of darkness and solitude, actually reads pretty warm and wholesome with how Rin is so dark and gloomy yet so earnest about being friendly... you're not stupid, Rin!
finally had a chance to read this! as a fan of gratuitous violence, i gotta say i really enjoyed this. zain is just a mean dude with no mercy, huh. love how unapologetically villainous he paints himself. as a side note and a fan of catchy novel names, i really like your title, and also props to your artist!

Yes, they're all references to authors! Dumas is a reference to Alexandre Dumas (writer of The Count of Monte Cristo) but Sugarplum is the only exception-- her original last name was Carroll (for Lewis Carroll) but I realized last minute that's the last name of the protagonist of ACID ALICE and i didn't want to cause any confusion/give the appearance of overlap, so I changed it 😅
