The allergic reaction story in the second half was inspired by a real incident involving Doctor Mike! Coco's mini arc here also reflects how I've come to love and respect healthcare professionals. I hope this chapter served to develop her character a little more.

Also, the final scene's location was based off of a real brunch place in Calgary I went to, when I was on a trip with one of my best friends. The portion sizes were incredible.

This experience was based off of western Canadian festivals like the Calgary Stampede and K Days, and the rides are all real! They're some of my favourites. Homegirl's hair whipping you in the face is an essential experience of the Polar Express.

I don't know if other carnival goers have similar rides and experiences, but if you ever have free time in the summer, hit up one of these with your boys!

Thanks for the read! Just an honest heads up, there aren’t as many soliloquy references in the upcoming chapters. If I have time to add more content, I definitely would continue with the soliloquies— it was a super fun addition to the earlier chapters. Unfortunately, the competition deadline is really straining me to rush things through. Again, thank you for appreciating my work in this first chapter! Unlike the later chapters, I spent quite some time on this one, so it means a lot.

My dad used to take me shooting all the time; we had a GSG-1911 (now sold) and a Savage Mark II, which is what the .22 rifle was based off of. Since we're not in America, it's harder and stricter to acquire firearms where I live.

Some of my boys actually went shooting earlier this week, when I was at home grinding this web novel :(( but I was able to write this story based off of some pictures and videos they sent! I hope you guys enjoyed.

Could you tell that HoH is based off of Valorant? It's named that way because I originally wanted to write about League of Legends. The first scene is based off of Ascent B site, while the second scene is based off of Icebox B site.

I wrote this chapter because gaming with The Boys is universal. Despite being in our own homes, doing our own things, we can hop into a Discord call whenever we want and start playing a team esport! It's beautiful how technology brings the boys together. I hope you guys enjoyed this one!

Memories of making Mcdonald's runs at midnight with the boys really made this chapter necessary for the story. The idea of road racing also scares me, although I've had friends who've done that-- hence my conservative narration through Via's perspective.

Based off of the first few chapters and a quick skim: the story is well written and easy to follow, the characters are memorable, the premise is incredibly interesting, and your cover illustration is gorgeous! My eyes usually start glazing over in the first chapter of most light novels/web novels, but your story actually really captivated me. I'm currently grinding for my own submission, but I will definitely binge this one after September 5th. Keep up the work and good luck on the contest!!
