Chapter 2 The Shy, Serious and Sleepy

Haru’s face hit a stack of fairly heavy books that someone was carrying, sending them all flying up, and both Haru and whoever was carrying the books down to the ground.

In a matter of a few seconds, Haru notices a couple of books were about to fall on the heads of students, she rushes forward using her whole body to shield and protect the other person from the falling books.

By then the entire hall of students has people's attention directed towards what's happening. Some books hit her back and head but it barely left a scratch.

“Are you alright?! Did you get hurt anywhere?” Haru is quick to ask the girl under her.

The one under Haru's body looks like a first-year student, the same as Haru. A soft white skin and a shorter body than Haru pair with a short light pink ponytail and pink eye which has a bit of tear coming out. She was in shock from suddenly bumping into another person so hard that it sent heavy books flying, and said person came in to save her.

“I-I’m fine, I’m very sorry for bumping into you..” the short pink hair girl said.

“Eh? No no no that was my fault for running into you without paying attention, I-I am the one who should be sorry” Haru insisted.

“But you still saved me from the falling books so I-I should be thankful..,” After saying that the girl stands up and fumbles to pick up the books.

“It's nothing, they didn’t hurt that much, I‘m glad that you’re not hurt. Here let me help you pick them up and I will help you carry them to wherever you want”

“Um i-it’s alright, I'll do it myself, you don’t have to,” although her gloomy expression was quickly cut out by Haru's voice and smile.

“No it’s alright let me help you, this is all the books right?”

Before she knew it Haru had already gathered all the books on the ground and put them in stacks just like before.

“Um.. yes, let me take it from here..”

“It’s fine, just tell me where to go and we’ll be there in no time!”

“Ehhhhh… Umm...”

“Even if she told you where to bring the books, would you even know where to go?”

Suddenly a serious tone voice from behind Haru followed by students around the hall in awe and whispering to each other as if someone famous had just arrived.

“Uh that’s true hehe..,” Haru said while turning around and placing the book down.

A person who is older than Haru, what seemed to be a third-year student, wearing a student council badge. Long and elegant dark blue hair, black eyes, and an overall complete mature look.

“Yep she definitely is famous in this school,” Haru thought to herself.

“You two seem to not have any serious injury anywhere so that’s good"

“Also didn’t I tell you to just go and wait for someone to help carry the books, Riku?” the third-year said while looking at the one who was carrying the books

“U-m Lin senpai I-I just thought I could help you with this task that’s all..”

“You know that books are heavy right? It’s alright if you can’t handle them all. In fact, I was coming to help you carry them”

“Understood Lin senpai...”

“And you, your name?”

She spoke again with the same serious voice while gazing at Haru standing frozen still like she knew that she had broken a rule and nearly hurt a student right in front of a senior who probably is the head of the student council.

“H-Haru, Raikou Haru!”

“Please don’t run in the hall as an accident like this can happen and it can cause injury or damage to the school property, remember this is your first day here don’t cause any more commotion or you might get a warning for your behavior, understood?”

“U-Understood!!”

Like lightning striking a tree multiple times, Haru can only stand there with a defeated expression while listening to Lin and replying to her.

But right before they part ways a much softer voice called out to Haru, signaling her attention again.

“Umm... It's Haru, right? t-thank you very much for protecting me!” Riku spoke with a shy expression once again but this time in a loud present unlike herself so far.

This time it shocked Haru and right from a defeated look on her face, and after a few seconds of processing, her frown turned right into a face of relief and confidence. All Haru replies with is a simple big smile and a thumbs-up before continuing on, this time she makes sure to take a slow pace walking down the hallway.

“Haru huh? She’s much tougher than I thought even though I don’t sense any trace of Alternium in her. Just pure natural strength like that… T.S.I sure bring in many kinds of people,” the senpai thought to herself before leaving.

Haru walks down to the end of the hall and finally reaches her room when she notices...

“Hm? The door is opened? Did my roommate already go out or just come to see what was happening down the hall?”

“Hello! Is Shiro Furutaka here? I’m Haru Raikou, your new roommate from today onwards” Haru speaks while opening the door to see inside the room.

“Eh?!”

Just right in front of the door is what Haru assumes to be Shiro lying down on the ground and trying to tuck in her breakfast which is a simple jam toast. She has a short, round, bob hair cut, which is tied into a distinct bun, making her white hair somewhat resemble a snowball. She’s a bit smaller than Haru in size.

“Umm... Uh...” Haru was taken back a little.

“Huh?” the white-haired girl responded, in a bit of a daze

Haru's loud voice took Shiro’s attention, she slowly got up from the ground and looked at Haru with her light blue sleepy eyes.

“Shiro is fine~ Just woke up a bit early from the loud noises~”

“And then you have your breakfast at the door right after you saw what was happening?”

“Yess~” *Yawn*

“Oh um alright then... Alright let me introduce myself again, I’m Raikou Haru, you can call me Haru, nice to meet ya”

“Shiro and I like to sleep~”

“I don’t think I need to guess that”

“Come in let me show the room~”

The room consists of a bunk bed for 2 people, 2 tables with one of them already has a personal computer on and along with many other things, and a medium-size space in the middle of the room with a kotatsu. The room also comes with a small kitchen, bookshelf, closet that is divided into 2 sides, and bathroom.

“So you moved in yesterday already?”

“Yepppp~”

“Quite a lot of stuff there on your desk eh?”

“Mhm, mess with any of it and you're dead~”

“I-I’m just asking…”

After that, Haru quickly unpacks her bag and organizes her belongings, putting her clothes into her side of the closet.

“By the way, I think you should get prepared for the ceremony, I think it will be time soon,” Haru said while putting her last remaining belongings in place.

“I'm superrrr ready~”

Suddenly Shiro started taking her pajamas off right in front of Haru.

“EH!? If you are going to do it then do it in the bathroom not here!!’ Haru face started turning red while covering her eyes

“Hm? You’re embarrassed? We are both girls you know~”

“But there's still a limit, you know!!”

“Although I wouldn't be surprised if you are a boy~”

“SAY WHAT??!”

“The way you save Riku there is a perfect scene for a romance anime don’t you think? Fufu~” Shiro teases Haru with a smug face

Haru's face turns completely beet red.

“O-Oi! I'm a girl you know! Despite how I look… I j-just wanted to protect other peopl-”

“Done, Let’s gooooo”

“Huh?”

By the time Haru finishes ranting, Shiro is already in the same school uniform.

“I wore my school uniform under my pajama ~”

“...”

Haru stood there completely out of the word to say

“Who would’ve thought that a loud confident type would have a cute side like this~”

“Could say the same for you....”

“That’s alright tho~ Everyone has many sides to them”

“....”

“By the way, there are 5 minutes left until the ceremony~”

“Wait... WHAT?!”
