Chapter 6: Troubled Young Lady in the Forest

Beyond The Stars

The second arc begins!

Narrator: The heroes head north in their journey to reach Zeth’s home.

The heroes are walking through a deep forest.

Zeth: How long until we are out of this forest?

Kurt: Not that much longer.

Zeth: So what town will we be arriving at again?

Emily: Flagron Town.

Joe: I’ve never been there before so I’m looking forward to checking out some place new.

As the heroes continue to walk in the deep forest, they hear crying and then they stop in their tracks.

Joe: Do you guys hear that?

Zeth: Yeah, let’s go check it out.

The heroes head towards where they hear the crying from. The crying is coming from a young lady that is sitting against a tree. She has straight black hair and it goes down to her middle back, her iris color is red. She is wearing a red shirt and blue jeans but they are dirty. She is 5 feet, 10 inches tall.

Narrator: Sasha – Age 17.

The heroes see and then approach her and she looks up with tears rolling down her eyes.

Zeth: Hey, are you alright?

Joe: What’s your name?

Sasha: My name is Sasha and I’m not alright. *sniff*

Emily: What’s wrong? Why are you out here by yourself?

Sasha: Just a few days ago, my adoptive parents and I got in a typical parent-child argument.

Sasha has a flashback that shows her arguing with her adoptive parents inside their house. (Her step-dad has short brown hair as well as a bushy mustache. Her step-mom has upper back length brown hair. Both of them are wearing casual clothes and seem like they are in their late 30s).

Sasha: But then everything went wrong. Suddenly, for no reason, their anger turned to fear.

Sasha’s parents have an extremely terrified look on their faces.

Sasha: They called me the devil’s spawn and told me to get out of the house and never come back. They said the Light Goddess would find me and execute me!

More tears flow down Sasha’s face.

Sasha: I don’t think I have ever been so hurt!

Zeth: Sounds like cruddy parents to me.

Zeth holds out his hand for her. Zeth: You should come with us.

Sasha: Do you really mean it?

Zeth: Yep, I’m not just gonna leave someone in need to suffer. Especially when you have no home to go back to.

Sasha: *sniff* Thank you, thank you!

Sasha grabs onto Zeth’s hand to help her stand up. Sasha still holds onto Zeth’s hand and she looks at him in awe. After a few moments, she looks down at her arm.

Sasha: But, umm, one thing I want to mention is that my arms get this red aura.

She holds out her other arm and both arms get a red aura.

Zeth: Don’t worry. That just means you have magic power.

A purple aura forms around Zeth’s arms.

Zeth: See, I got a purple aura on my arms.

Sasha: Oh, okay. So then it’s completely normal.

Zeth: We are headed to my home city. We got a long way to go.

Kurt: Flagron Town is only a mile ahead. Let’s go.

With Sasha in their group, the heroes continue moving on.

Meanwhile, the silhouette of something sinister and creepy is watching them as they leave.

???: More humans are coming. Hehehe. Drought will be pleased.

Narrator: The heroes have found Sasha and are adding her to their group. But who or what is watching them from a distance?
