Orientation concluded

[10/24, 8:00 AM] I wake up to Kanna shaking me. “Noah! Wake up!”

I groan. “Can’t it wait? I wasn’t a morning person when I was alive other than that I was awake. And apparently, I’m still not a morning person.”

“If we don’t resolve you in the next twenty minutes, you’ll be stuck as a ghost forever!”

That gets me up. I jump up, throw on my jacket, and chase after her as she runs through the building. “Kanna! Slow-*wheeze*-down!”

She stops in front of a door at the end of a hall. I can’t stop myself in time and slam into it face first. I bounce off and fall on my butt. Kanna’s trying to suppress a giggle. Then, I fall backward, and she does giggle. “It’s not…funny…”

“Sorry…”

I groan dazedly. I stand up and grab onto the wall for support. Kanna leads me to a tablet on the wall. She supports me while I use it. It lets me choose “power sets”. I choose Izuku “Deku” Midoriya, Ochaco Uraraka, Asui, Hinata, Toru “Invisible Girl” Hagakure, Miia, Suu, Kyouka Jirou, Senko-san, Chocola, Shea Haulia, Kanna, Kaede, Satania, Ram, Aku, Rikka Takanashi, Azuki, Shigure, Shoto Todoroki, Naruto, and Boruto. I hit submit. The door pops open and swings inward. We walk in. I look at the floor in the middle of the room and laugh. “What’s so funny?”

I gesture to the pentagram. She looks and laughs as it dawns on her. “This is a guys-only Resolution Chamber. Changing one's gender after death requires dark magic.”

“My suggestion was taken that fast?”

“Yep!”

“Wow!”

“Stand in the center.”

I do, and she walks into the hall. She pushes a button, and as the door slowly shuts, I see an apologetic look on her face. The pentagram starts glowing…blue…my shade of blue. I innately know that it’s supposed to be a rainbow. Kanna bursts in.

“Noah! Get out of there!”

Tohru and Koba come up behind her and gasp. I move, but from each of the five points, a laser beams up. They lean and connect above my head, creating an orb of energy. Kanna runs toward me, but Tohru grabs her, and Koba shuts the door with the saddest, most apologetic face I have ever seen. Kanna’s face is streaked with tears. When the door shuts, I hear her start sobbing. “Tohru! He’ll die in there! It’s not supposed to be that color!”

I hear the lock engage. Kanna starts pounding on the door. I look up at the orb, and a bolt of lightning arcs from the orb and hits me. It hurts, but I grit my teeth. If I’m gonna die, I don’t want her to think it hurt. I start floating. My head tilts up. In the ceiling, I see my reflection. The light has changed to pink. My mouth opens, and light spills out. My eyes are pink. The lightning goes down my throat. There’s a blinding light, I’m blasted against the wall across from the door, and I see no more.
