Chapter 40:

Prince Shōkō

The Doll Metaphor Part 1

"His real name was Shōkō."

"Shōkō?"

"Yes, he's one of the bastard sons of the king, my father's."Said this, turning her back on me.

"How do you know all this?"

"I hadn't the need to, but felt it was an obligation to the truth, a truth that is connected to you, all of us."Turned her glance to me, bend herself, making some sort of a pose.

"Me?"Felt confused.

"I'm beginning to think that this case isn't a conflict of interests, but rather, a more personal situation happening before us, don't you think it's a bit strange that the terrorists attacked the castle without even covering their faces, a person like you, Aia, know damn well that's not how criminals work in any crime, especially you that worked in homicides before working to royal family."

"..."Simply stayed in silence.

"It was not a terrorist attack, it was kinda suicide bombing to kill the king, which failed miserably."

"What are you trying to tell me?"I said.

"That the one who planned the attack is somewhat related to my father."

"And how you plan to prove this?"I said.

"Destroying the grave."

"WHAT! Are you crazy!?"

"Aia, destroy the grave."

"No, I have to respect the grave."

"Aia."

"..."

"Ok."

I used Alex's power, gave my tremendous strength, one I couldn't imagine. With only one kick, destroyed the grave. Rock bits flying everywhere.

Elizabeth quickly picked one of the urns with the ashes, opening it.

Nothing inside.

"Looks like my theory was correct, Shōkō never really died and he was the author of the incident in the castle."

"Damn, you really are smart, Elizabeth-chan."

"Stop complimenting me, I'm a lot more time in this case than you, natural that I now some things by now."

She pulled her phone and looked at it.

"Seems like it's time to go make a visit to my papa, and you're coming with me."

"Why me?"

"He transmitted transparently that he wanted to hear your report, so hurry up."

"..."

(One hour later and a half later).

"Father, we're here."Said Elizabeth.

"Welcome Aia, do you have the report that I asked?"Sitting on the throne, formal gestures, a voice so correct that looked almost mathematical.

"Yes, your highness."The tongue felt like it was tied, a surreal moment for me, being present with the king.

The fun thing is that I'm more nervous now than when I first encountered him.

"We attempted to caught two of the suspects, but the results were disappointed, to say the least."

"Yes, I've heard of that. That they attacked the a school, causing a bloodbath. Listen now closely, I can give the benefit of the doubt, even my best armed men died trying to defend me at the fateful day. But I can't ignore this, so I must ask you one thing."

"What, your highness?"

"To kill the person who caused all this trouble."

"Do mean you want me to kill one of my colleagues?"

"Yes, and that one is Matthew, Elizabeth told me that he was the one to cause all this."

"But..."

"Are we clear, Aia?"

"Yes, your highness."
