Chapter 3:

New Dawn

Child Of Darkness

12 Years Later

Year 911

Rasparte City

"Aiden wake up!"  Milia Kualasis, a thirty two year old lady and also the mother of Aiden burst open the already half broken wooden door, invading the room of her son.

It was six in the morning and also the scheduled time for everyone to wake up at the Kualasis household. But Aiden had yet to wake up and that's why her mom was here to pull the blanket off him and maybe pour some water if he was too stubborn. She took steady strides walking towards Aiden's bed.

Aiden's room had not changed from how it was when he first opened his eyes twelve years ago, there was single wooden bed with a broken leg which was balanced on a Stone slab so as to keep it from falling down, a table not larger than a standard study table made up of mahogany wood was placed right Infront of the window and just a wooden wardrobe besides the door.

The only source of light in his room was the two Astarte lamps that hung up from the ceiling. At the same time one could also see some fat leather binded books lay open in the table.

Aiden's mom steadily stepped forward, increasing her intensity with each step she took forward, as of warning the boy that if he didn't wake up by the time she reached his bed it would be bad news for him.

"Aiden I will count until three. If you don't wake up by the end then I will-"

" Hey mom. I am sorry I forgot to tell you."  Emeline called her out. " Aiden already left, about an hour ago for school. He was saying that there was an important meet regarding the Sepira Festival next week and he was needed"

Emeline Kualasis, the eldest daughter of Milia and Dastun Kualisis as well as the elder sister of Aiden, was standing by the door with her back leaning towards the framework as she informed her mom about her brother.

Milia simply sighed. Her sapphire blue eyes gazed out of the window looking outside with worry plastered on her face. Her mind was focused on only one person and that was her son Aiden. It's been twelve years since that time when he started behaving differently. He was the same old Aiden she knew it but something about him made him feel distant.

She was brought back to the reality when her Husband Datsun called her out for serving him with breakfast.

She sighed once again before closing the windows shut and making her way towards the kitchen to begin with her daily chores.

After twelve years of living in the Coastal city of Rasparte, Aiden Kualasis was accustomed to being occasionally targeted by the thugs anytime for money and at sword-point. Most of the thousands of people who lived in this city were also a victim of this very same problem-so it wasn't suprising oh he saw a one or two thugs ganging up on a innocent bystander.

What he did not usually expect, however, was a  group of hooded grown up men in black who looked more like Gorillas rather than humans with their facial hairs growing all over their face, ganging up on a young girl —as there was now

The girl was wearing a saffron dress with a tiara worn on her head and her blonde hairs were neatly tied into a bun. If anyone else saw the girl they would suspect her to be daughter of some rich noble or merchant who can earn them a fortune bit Aiden knew who the girl was and also the fact that she was no noble.

Her name was Sistine, she was the daughter of the couple who lived next door to the Kualasis, and the fact that she was wearing such an expensive dress was because she was chosen as the Maiden Godess for the Sepira Festival next week. It was clear that Sistine was on her way for practice when this group of bandits saw her and targeted her for money.

A bald thug kneeled down and grabbed the petite hands of terrified Sistine, trying to force her to give him what he wants, while also holding his kitchen knife on the nape of her neck.

"Young girl of you want to live then it would be better if you would listen to our demands or else I won't hesitate to kill you" he said with a evil smirk plastered over his face. "Or maybe even better, we'll sell you at the slave market, young girls like you always sell for a high price"

Sistine who until now had been keeping herself from crying finally let out a terrified shriek for help, but it was muffled when the thugs stuffed a napkin on her mouth.

"Guys let's tak-" Before the bald thug could have completed his sentence he was punched straight on his face with enough force to send his heavy body flying towards the alleyway wall and knock him unconscious.

Aiden had been walking towards the school when he saw the thugs ganging up on someone in the alley and had decided to intervene when he heard the shriek of Sistine. As soon as she saw the young innocent girl gagged with a napkin while the thugs looked at her with lustful eyes, his body moved on it's own and punched the Bald thug on the face.

Aiden was disgusted by how they treated Sistine and without thinking twice he ran towards the helpless young girl prepared to protect her at all cost

"WHAT THE!" The red haired thug shouted in shock."You suddenly appear out of nowhere and punched Leo do you have a deathwish kid!"

Aiden ignored the comments from the red head thug and stared daggers at the remaining thugs. If looks could kill then Aiden's death stare was enough to send the remaining thug to Heaven.

"Say something!"

Annoyed by the silent treatment the red head thug ran towards Aiden, his fingers tightly curled together in a fist making it's way towards Aiden's guts.

"Tch." Aiden was pissed off. First off you guys hurt this girl and then when you should apologize for hurting her you try to fight.

Before the fist of the thug could have made contact, Aiden simply raised his right leg and kicked the red head thug hard sending him flying down on the stony road of the alley.

"He even took Vira down! He is bad news it's better we apologize and run away" one of the remaining thug tried to reason.

"Are you stupid if we ran away! Then Boss will definitely kill us"

"But if we fight with this boy we will be definitely killed!"

"SHUT UP ALREADY!! DO YOU GUYS HAVE NO SENSE OF HUMANITY! TRYING TO ROB A YOUNG GIRL JUST BECAUSE SHE LOOKED LIKE A NOBLE!" Aiden stated with his eyes filled with fury.

"Hey you don't you think you need to apologize to this girl!"

Theremaining thugs were too terrified to disobey so they did what they thought was the best, they picked up their fallen comrade and ran away while screaming word of apologies for harming the girl.

"Phew… they finally left"

Without wasting any time Aiden quickly picked up Sistine, removed her gag and embraced her tightly.

"It's all right now." He whispered softly into the tears of the terrified young girl, trying to comfort her and make her feel safe.

Aiden knew how it felt to be cornered to be left alone, scared, unprotected and waiting for eternity just for a saviour to arrive but the real world was not all sunshine and rainbows. The real world is far more cruel, there's no saviour or heroes who will jump up right away to save you in this cruel world.

But if it's possible to run and save someone Infront of his eyes, Aiden won't stop he will do it. Even if he wasn't strong enough, he would still do it because no one was there for him.

07:30 AM

OuterWalls of Rasparte City

Atop the watch tower of the outer wall stood a single girl alone basking herself in the glory of the morning sun. She was beautiful. Her long raven black hair were tied neatly into a ponytail, that reached down to her shoulder. She was looking straight towards the tower at the centre of the city.

                'The Tower Of Astrea'

Her olive green eyes shone with intelligence and fierceness of a warrior. The aura surrounding her gave the impression that she can show anyone hell who decided to mess with her. Just below her left eye ran a nasty scar which went until her cheekbones.

The clothes she wore used red as base colour, along with a black cloak which was emblazoned with the embroidery that depicted a howling wolf.

She glanced at the city down below that's when her eyes caught a pair of golden wings flying just besides her, before she could have take out her sword and attacked the creature had already gone. But seeing the wings had confirmed one thing. She was in the right place.

She grinned at the city below. "Finally, I have found it. It must be around here"

And then she leaped down the wall, falling mid air through the sky with her signature smirk plastered all over her face.

*A girl and mysterious gold winged creature dance in the morning sky, something is going to happen*
