Chapter 641: Essential Magic Detection

Narrator: Back with Kurt and Kasuma who are being attacked by Simon.

Simon stands on a higher platform and looks down at Kurt. He thinks to himself. (“It is entirely possible that he is a bad matchup for me. Still, I must take him down. An angel from another world is not superior to me.”)

Simon flies down toward Kurt and his arm glows with magic.

Simon thinks to himself. (“It’s a risk but it is one that I must take!”)

Simon enters Kurt’s Aura Field and releases a burst of magic from his palm. At the same, Kurt’s Aura Whip automatically activates and hits Simon hard. Kurt is knocked back into a wall while in a lot of pain. He coughs up some blood. Simon is also knocked back into a wall higher up. The collision allows Kurt to know where Simon is. Kurt quickly charges his arms and hands with magic and then slams them together, causing a rupture of aura magic to burst forth in a beam.

Kurt yells, “Aura Rupture Beam!!”

The beam heads straight for Simon. Simon opens his eyes wide in panic. He quickly pushes himself off the wall and drops down just before the beam hits. The beam hitting the wall causes an explosion that blasts Simon down onto the floor, damaging him more.

Kurt speaks. “Did I get him? I have no way to know.”

Simon begins to slowly stand up and he is breathing heavily. He thinks to himself. (“That was close. A direct hit from that attack would have dealt me a severe wound at the very least. Close combat is not an option for this battle. Ranged attacks are not really my specialty but I have no choice.”)

Simon begins flying up to a high place in the room again. He pulls out a small rubber ball. His hand glows with magic and then the ball starts to increase in size until it is the size of a baseball. He throws the ball down toward Kurt. The ball enters Kurt’s Aura Field which causes it to be struck by an automatic Aura Whip. However, the attack causes a burst of magic energy to be released, damaging Kurt more. In addition, the ball then bounces back toward Simon and he catches it with ease.

Simon thinks to himself. (“That worked out well. His field of aura is useless against this attack. I’ll just keep at it until he dies.”)

Simon begins the cycle of powering the ball with his magic and then throwing it at Kurt, which damages him every time.

Kurt thinks to himself in a lot of pain. (“It’s no use! My Aura Field can’t help me against this attack! It’s even worse that I can’t even see the attack! I need to use my magic detection abilities but I can’t do it while facing this barrage of attacks!”)

Kasuma watches in horror at Kurt getting continuously beaten by Simon’s attacks. She thinks to herself. (“I have to do something! But what…!? The only thing I can tell is that the time between each attack is the same each time! I must…! I must do something!! My Voice Magic must be able to help him!!”)

Kasuma puts both of her hands up to her neck and begins to inhale while her hands are charged with magic. She thinks to herself. (“I must time this right!!”)

A moment later, she begins screaming. “STOOOOOOP!!!!”

The magic energy of Kasuma’s voice travels to the space in front of Kurt and blasts away the ball just before it enters his Aura Field. Simon looks down at Kasuma with an intense expression. Kurt did not hear Kasuma’s voice but he does look over toward her as he saw the magic energy.

Kurt smiles as he thinks to himself. (“The attacks stopped! I don’t know how she did it but I must take advantage of this!!”)

Kurt closes his eyes as he begins to use his magic detection ability.

Simon looks at Kasuma with frustration. He shouts. “Kasuma! You little…! Do not interrupt my attacks!”

Neither Kurt nor Kasuma could hear his voice so his position was not given away. However, he begins flying down toward Kasuma to attack her. He intends to strike her with a magic-powered punch.

Simon shouts, “Goodbye, Kasuma!”

However, just before Simon lands his attack, he is punched in the face by a flaming fist. The attack knocks him away and leaves a slight burn on his left cheek. He successfully lands on his feet and rubs his cheek.

Simon angrily asks, “How…!?”

Kurt stands in front of Kasuma and faces Simon. Kurt’s eyes are still closed and his Aura Field is no longer active. He smiles confidently.

Kurt states, “You’ve been using magic to completely hide yourself from us. With my magic detection, you stick out like a sore thumb. Kasuma gave me this opportunity so I will not let you hurt her! That Flame Aura Punch is only one of the attacks that you will be feeling now that you aren’t invisible to me!”

Narrator: Back with Zeth and Ivy.

Zeth and Ivy are running through a hallway with grandiose decorations hung on the walls. Two angels wearing knight armor block their path.

Zeth shouts, “Out of our way!!”

Zeth releases a Star Shine Blast that blows back one of the knight angels while Ivy dodges the other knight’s sword slash and then rips off his helmet which allows her to inject him with poison. Both of the knight angels are knocked out. Zeth and Ivy continue on and enter the next room. They find themselves in the throne room and see Light God Daren sitting on his throne.

Daren rubs his beard as he speaks with a gravelly voice. “It looks like the pests have found their way to my throne. How disappointing.”

Zeth states with a serious tone, “We’re here to end your tyranny… Daren.”

Ivy also states with a serious tone, “You will die and this world will finally be free. This will be your final moments as the ruler.”

Daren stops rubbing his beard and replies in his gravelly voice, “Then show me what you can do. The Dark God could not defeat me. You runts will fare no better.”

Narrator: Kurt has made progress in the battle against Simon! Zeth and Ivy confront the Light God himself!
