Chapter 642: The Battle Against The Light Tyrant Begins!

Narrator: Zeth and Ivy have confronted Daren!

Daren stands and holds out his right arm forward.

Daren’s voice becomes more aggressive as he says, “I will show you just what kind of mistake you made coming here.”

Many killer plants start sprouting from the ground. They look vicious but Ivy steps forward and puts her hands together.

Ivy shouts, “This will take just a second!”

Ivy thrusts her hands forward, causing a wave of pink poison liquid to be released and cover the plants. They quickly die. Zeth takes the opportunity and launches himself toward Daren while charging up his arms with magic. When Zeth gets close, he tries to punch Daren but Daren successfully blocks the attack with his arm. Zeth follows up with a fast kick but Daren is also able to block that attack with his other arm. Daren jumps and kicks Zeth in the chin to knock him upward. While both are going up, Daren uses his palm to blow Zeth back to the other side of the room.

Daren states, “Neither of you can do anything to me. Just watch.”

All of the plants that Ivy killed become touched by the light that comes from the ceiling, instantly reviving all of them.

Ivy clinches her fist as she speaks with frustration. “Sasha still hasn’t dealt with that light source…! She needs to hurry!”

Narrator: Meanwhile with Sasha.

Sasha stands and faces Grant.

Grant says, “Not only does my light help the plants stay alive, but it can also further strengthen them. They will be able to do things that they couldn’t do before without my light. If any of your friends were to fight my father… that would be particularly problematic for them. They wouldn’t be able to defeat him.”

Sasha clinches her fists and grits her teeth.

Sasha speaks with nervous anger. “This is bad… I must defeat him soon…!”

Narrator: Back to Zeth and Ivy.

Daren raises his arms up.

Daren shouts, “Bring forth the light!”

Even more light begins to shine down into the room onto the plants. The plants begin evolving. They start growing legs and arms, allowing them to stop being rooted down into the floor.

Zeth looks nervous as he speaks. “This is not good…”

The arms of each plant begin to become more weapon-like. Some of the arms become like mallets, while others become like swords. Others become like a spiked-ball mace. The plants also become charged with more magic.

Daren smirks as he speaks. “Forget just handling me, you may not even get past my plants.”

Ivy growls, “I really hate you, you bastard tyrant.”

Zeth looks at the foes they face with determination as he says, “Don’t worry. We will overcome this.”

Daren states, “If you are so confident in that, show me what you can do against my newly energized plants.”

Zeth shouts, “With pleasure!”

Zeth activates his Raging Star Mode and releases a Raging Star Blast. The blast hits one of the plants directly while the others are caught in an explosion.

Zeth looks at Ivy and says, “They won’t be down for long so take advantage of the smoke caused by the explosion to do an attack.”

Ivy replies, “Right.”

Ivy begins rushing in but the plants begin jumping out from the smoke with their bodies quickly healing. The first plant through hits Ivy with its mallet arm to knock her back.

Zeth opens his eyes wide in shock. “They don’t revive and move that fast! So, did my attack not even actually kill them!?”

Daren replies with a serious tone. “That is correct. You will not kill them so easily. Both of you will die without laying another finger on me.”

Zeth mumbles, “Damn it…”

Ivy dodges a plant’s sword slash and then covers a mace-attacking plant with poison while kicking back the sword-attacking plant.

Ivy shouts, “We can fight these things for a while but we’re going to waste all of our energy on them!”

Zeth throws a few Star Shards that carve into the plants they hit and then he punches a mallet-attacking plant that gets close to him.

Zeth replies, “I know! So, give me a moment to think of a strategy!”

Daren replies, “There is no strategy. You two simply can’t handle these light-powered plants. You were fools to ever come here.”

Zeth begins thinking to himself as he continues to fight the plants. (“I need to do something that allows me to not only blow through the plants but to also land a massive blow on Daren! Preferably, this will be one attack. That rules out anything that activates upon first contact. There is one thing that immediately comes to mind but I can’t activate it while these plants continue to constantly swarm me. Maybe Ivy can…!”)

Zeth looks at Ivy and asks as they continue to fight the plants, “Can you buy me just a minute of time?”

Ivy replies in question, “A whole minute?”

Zeth nods as he kicks a plant. “Yes.”

Ivy looks at the plants with determination as she shouts, “I can definitely try!”

Ivy claps her hands together and then spreads her hands out wide to release and cover all of the plants in front of her with poison. She then does the same to the plants going after Zeth. The poison does not kill the plants but it slows them down significantly, allowing Ivy to attack and knock all the plants away from Zeth.

Ivy shouts, “Whatever you are going to do, hurry up!”

Zeth’s raging aura condenses to his body while Ivy continues fighting off the slowed plants. Soon, Zeth’s aura finishes condensing.

Zeth yells, “I’m ready! Here I go!! Raging Star Zothena!!”

Zeth begins dashing toward Daren. His raging aura tears through any of the plants upon contact as he continues his dash. Daren opens his eyes wide as Zeth continues his dash.

Daren shouts, “What!?”

Zeth gets close to Daren and thrusts his arm forward. Blood splashes out. Zeth is now behind Daren and his hand is covered in blood. Daren’s eyes are wide open as his abdomen has a significant bloody wound. He coughs up some blood.

Zeth’s aura is no longer condensed. He turns around and smirks while he speaks. “I only wish I could have done more to you with that attack, but you almost got me with a quick retaliation. Maybe you will learn not to underestimate us. I bet you’re not even half as tough as the Dark Goddess of our world was at full power.”

Daren replies with anger, “This is nothing! You may have surprised me but it will not happen again! Fuse, my plants!!”

All of the plants revive and then start fusing together. They combine to form a massive plant monster that has many pairs of arms. It also has way more bulk. Many of the plant’s arms extend out toward Zeth. He successfully fights off some of the arms but they soon overwhelm him. They wrap around him and throw him back to the other side of the room.

Ivy grits her teeth in nervousness as she says, “I hope Sasha stops this light soon or we might be in serious trouble…”

Narrator: Although Zeth landed a significant blow to Daren, it was not enough to turn around the situation that he and Ivy find themselves in. They need Sasha to defeat Grant or they won’t get anywhere in this battle!
