Synopsis

One can write a story about a character writing a story about a character writing a story about a character, etc. If any of these characters realize that they are part of a story, it is because they were written to do so. Yet, the story is all that is real to them, as is the case for anyone on the recursive ladder.

No matter how many layers you peel away, you will be met with another layer of story. After all, how you and I experience reality is no different from the characters we write. I dub this, the Infinite Onion Peel Theory.

Not that it's a real thing.

Note from author

Very much an experimental work, not adhering to most rules of writing—a challenge in its own right.
