Hmm very good point. Though I wanted the trope to be an exaggeration. I really meant for everyone to focus on the fact that Reira may be slightly older than her appearance, giving her that kind of "denial of growing up" type deal. And in turn that makes Kilu suspicious about her "real" age which remains a mystery. But maybe I didn't explain it well enough. I'll try and get that across later in the novel. Thank you!

Ooo! Very nice beginning! I like the approach you used for the classic Rom/Com because it seems more like a survival game for the characters. I'll definitely have to add this to my library! I did spot a few grammar mistakes but good thing they weren't too bad. Sometimes grammar and mispelling can be a little jarring to the reader. Maybe giving your chapter a read over before publishing will help you with the rest of the novel. Besides that, the plot sounds awesome! All in all, I wish you the best in winning the contest!!

And I definitely wanted to ensure Kilu had a past that really defined his friendly attitude. Not sure if that came across well enough---his sorrowful past and abandonment is what drove him to be close friends with Shizu especially since he couldn't get along too well with Iris and Reira. I really hope I can develop his character more in later chapters! So stay tuned

This is the first time I'm reading your book but it's super intriguing. It's almost like a person being stuck in the Pixar movie *Monster's Inc.* lol. But I think the approach for the plot works very well! And the cover of the novel matches with the protagonist's perspective. It provides a nice estrangement feel. Great job, and I look forward to more!!!
