Isekai is a vast genre.
Really, like really. Ranging from trash to good ones. I use the term "trash" too for some Isekai. Generally, I use that term for the overused cliche and repeating starts of the story like the Banished or exiled from the party type. I've seen it more than few times already. It is basically, the Isekai that has the same reused plot like the others with some changes here and there.
Now then. While there are trash, some are enjoyable XD. Recently, I've been reading the manga [auto skill] or [auto combat] something. (It's not Isekai though but it kinda fits with the same plot progression as the rest.) And if they start becoming enjoyable for me, of course, they're no longer trash Hahahaha
I think that most Isekai, the ones written by Japanese, is generally for "enjoyment" or "entertainment". No big plots, no mind-boggling twist. Just everyday life, or adventures with simple plot. A good example here is Tondemo Skill de Isekai...
--- One reason for influx of "Trash Isekai" as well is, that (bias here) I think there are a lot of JP author doing self-insert, hence the easy-going, simple life/adventure. They project the things they want to experience themselves.
The topic is just interesting so yeah, guess commented quite a bit.
I'll be reading the rest some time.
