First, I wanted to say thank you for reading through the book Mario! And thank you the review! it means a ton to me and I can’t express that in words.
This chapter was something I had in the back of my mind for a while which was just a silly interlude thing to explain Tensei's origins. I had a few different ideas for it, but I decided to go this route because it wrapped up a few other arcs that were going on in the background. (Can you find them all? 👀)
Ray and Rose were really supposed to be dual protagonists, given that they were two pieces of a whole. Ray was intelligent and able to work tech magic on the game in order to fix it. But his wife had charisma, which kept him motivated. She took the spotlight in a lot of cases because that’s her nature, but she always handed that spotlight over the Ray in the end, so he could make the decisive blow.
I think that having the real world pop up from time to time was ok from the contest standpoint, since the story predominantly takes place in the game world, but also establishes that a player on the outside has to exist for most of it. So I don't see it being an issue.
So, want a little development lore on Crow? His name was actually going to be Raven (RavenPaladin789 or something like that) all the way up until about five minutes before I uploaded that chapter. A friend who was reading told me I already had way to many R names, (Rose, Ray Roberts) and 'Raven' sounded way too much like 'Raymond,' so I decided to name him after another intelligent bird, which was a crow. Kept the same vibe I was going for.
I kinda' figured you'd like the livestreaming guy, but I was surprised you liked him as much as you did! I'm really glad though, lol! 👍
Oh, also, I believe we need to lovingly create a sticker on discord that says (YOU'VE BEEN NAKANO'D!) for the books you blaze through. (I'm always jealous how fast you read!) I know someone on YouTube who has a meme like that and I think it would fit you pretty well lol
Also, I'll be finishing through your story soon! I have more time now, so I'll blast through it!
Edit: OH remember our talk a while back about the rope tying up mechanic? in wester games? Red Dead does have it! I had it confirmed by a friend.
