To answer your question (also sorry this is a bit late):

1. The fulldive feature was functional before the devs got put in the game, but it was unstable. The game needed more power if it was going to support potentially millions of players. The devs who were forced into the game were tricked into thinking they were pretty much doing what Ray was and got shoved into the games engine to have their brains power it. 🧠

One of the effects of this was that some of the AI were able to gain sentience through the connection they had to the dev brains. Consider it a glitch that the studio worked into a feature.

2. Malwaria is quite weak on her own and uses her husband to pretty much do everything for her. She was trying to reach the top of the tower here and regroup with The Virus, but Troja captured her and kept her from doing that right away.

I can't remember if I stated it in the one chapter her class was introduced, but the reason Rose doesn't need a controller is because her class was made for an earlier build of the game, which ran differently than the current version. Likewise, the inevitability is that the game would allow all players to play without someone controlling them in the real world. Mal found this out and updated her version of the game so she could move around freely. Her husband however still needs her to make orders, which is another reason they were separated for a while when she first entered it.

Beating up dragons for comfort isn't much different from me fighting demons and aliens to blow off steam. The difference is that I do it in video games lol (I MEAN, SHE IS IN A VIDEO GAME ACTUALLY THOUGH😂) So in a way, I can say that I understand Ashrenne. Her going after someone's pet would be hilarious though.

It's sad that the Wanderer had to go, and Lina's pain must be immeasurable, but it was his time, and this is what he wanted. I've seen some stories drag on even after they should have ended, pulling a character out of retirement just for the sake of money and marketing. It's always hard to watch a good ending be tainted that way.
