Well, thank you for still reading Taylor that’s really nice of you.
It didn’t actually intend to be so political. I originally wanted to just make a nice cozy adventure story about a couple of humans in a robot walking around but it kind of just morphed into a discussion on how we treat people with disabilities, especially those that can’t be seen.
Obviously, the mayor is an example of people treating somebody with a physical disability absolutely appallingly.
That being said, I wanted to fight back against the notion that disabled people are always sympathetic. Like people without a disability, people with a disability also have the power to be tremendously cruel and vindictive, especially given the impact that their condition can have on them psychologically as somebody with a disability, I really wanted to try and explore that, because obviously what happened to the mayor is shit, but does it excuse his megalomaniacal behaviour after the fact? I don’t think so, but some might.
Anyway, that got really long winded. Thank you for continuing to read, it really means a lot.
