Hey, Bubbles! I had in mind two concepts for this story. Number 1 is the one I was aiming for but I think number 2 fits also.
1 She represents depression and her end goal is to bring him to the planet (as in death). I wanted depression to be siren-like, Someone who likes to lure people in and make them comfortable in the state of depression. His relationship with her is like a battle with depression. Sometimes he wants to kill himself (he wants to go to the planet), sometimes he is scared of the "rumors". Here I wanted the rumors to be the things religious people tell suicidal people. (for example, that they go to hell if they commit suicide). When he arrives at Thanatos he is content because he was happy with his decision. However, he still has some little regrets about dying and leaving everyone behind. In the end, he made peace with the idea, since his regrets and his peace were like two wings of a butterfly.
2. This one is more simple. She is an alien from Thanatos that brings people to the planet in order to kill them and turn them into butterflies (which represents the souls of the dead). She falls in love with him, so she is having second thoughts about bringing him there, and you know how it ends.
