I really appreciate you pointing this out. I crave constructive criticism to make my writing better but it's hard to come by, so I'm really excited about this. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I'm trying to finish this story and can't go back to rehaul those chapters right now, but I have made a note on it. Once I'm done, I fully plan on going back, rereading, and sitting on them with a different mindset before jumping into editing (which I know it needs). I'm glad you pointed it out. Sometimes what makes sense to the author who sees everything clearly in their mind does not translate well to the audience. I'm gonna do my best to fix that.
