Disclaimer: the person in the profile picture is not me, I might get red eyes after missing a night's sleep, but they don't shine 😴

It's a recurring side character that shows up in my current novel and will also show up in most future novels. It's a bit of a... 'shadowy' figure 🤭 (definitely NOT a spoiler)

If Isekai were real, I'd be reincarnated as Lelouch in Jojo's Bizzare Adventure.

Well, convincing her parents was easier than we would have expected. And just like that, the final boss fight went on successfully, and the MC got to have the girl around him long-term.

A lot of character development for everybody, especially MC and Aki. Amazingly, the entire challenge was never about their relationship per se, although it was a powerful underlying reason. Instead, it was their dreams, the things they loved and cared about, and their artistic side that they never wanted to leave behind.

We don't know much about each other @IceDonut, but both of us, like many hundreds of people here on the platform, have a non-artistic main job that brings money home, perhaps a job that we even love... and yet here we are on Honeyfeed, letting our artistic side manifest and glow up.

Aki-chan's story is about us, isn't it?

About all of us hobbyist writers and artists? About people having duties and responsibilities they cannot avoid while they try to create, to see the world differently, to bear the "eye of a demon" and the magical antler, not willing to have their eyes shut down just because we go by, misunderstood by the others.

Was that the main message you tried to send? Was it me seeing those things? 😅 To be fair, I finished your last chapters 20 to 22, after a bit of a break in which I dealt with this very situation. But while chapter 20 still felt like a sweet romantic comedy, I think the last 2 chapters were something different from the rest. It was a much deeper, much more philosophical way of putting things. On one side, I forgot it was a romantic comedy altogether. On the side, I love the perspective I got from it.

I'd leave some more technical comments as well, but it seems @minatika already did that job for me, and I'm going to subscribe to her more technical ideas 🙃 lazy me. On the other hand, even though I'm mostly a sucker for fantasy, I'm also a fan of slice-of-life stories. I love Horimiya, Your Name, Your Lie in April, and the rest you've mentioned. I'll add Golden Time to the list, my favorite romance story ever, and your story deeply reminded me of it. Despite the sometimes childish demeanor of characters, it was a college setting with characters being probably one year older than yours and dealing with some deep shit. What I like about stories such as yours is that aside from the bare enjoyment, there is also something to learn. I'd say this is a big plus.
