To celebrate the Chess Olympics arc, I've decided to create full artwork of all the major teams that will appear in the story. Each work of art contains not just full art of the team's members, but also their board number and rating along with the team's average rating. Here's links to all the team art currently up for teams that have been revealed thus far. More will be posted as the arc progresses.

The women's side is complete at 61 teams. Even though there are over 100 teams competing, I'm only choosing to spotlight 61 of the women's teams. There will be even less on the men's side, as I'll likely only post art for the teams Japan will face or encounter.

I know I keep saying "this will be it" for the women's teams, but this time I'm really capping them off at 61 teams. Maybe I'll go back on that and do more, but even if I do I will state for a fact the number of women's teams with art will not exceed 65.

Note that not all the countries that get a main focus will each have artwork of both their men's and women's teams.

Time to talk about Chapter 334: When you least expect it.
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition! Unless of course you know I love referencing Monty Python, in which case, you should have seen it coming. But I don't think anyone expected or saw it coming that Ginji would outright chloro Azenira in order to screw over the women's team. And I'll confirm he got Ryonosuke too, meaning he'll be playing in the round after all. Now, let's do the bios for all the new characters.

フランコ・デフランコ (Franko DeFranko) is how Franko's name would be spelled in katakana.

His birthday is November 22nd, which he shares with American-British actor and comedian, Terry Gilliam.

His favorite piece is the bishop, because he himself is a cardinal.

フランシス・ヒメネス・デ・シスネロス (Francis Jiménez de Cisneros) is how Francis' name would be spelled in katakana.

His birthday is February 1st, which he shares with Welsh actor and comedian, Terry Jones.

Given authority by Queen Sophia, these three bumbling buffoons now how full authority to go full Spanish Inquisition, so long as they adhere to complete and unwavering loyalty and obedience to Sophia herself. And in case you're wondering, they're more in-line with Monty Python's Spanish Inquisition than the historical one.

エゼキエル・ゴルドシミット (Ezekiel Goldschmidt) is how Ezekiel's name would be spelled in katakana. יחזקאל גולדשמידט (Ezekiel Goldschmidt) is how it would be spelled in Hebrew.

His birthday is March 29th. I chose the date at random, so there's no greater meaning behind why this date is his birthday.

His favorite piece is the bishop, because he himself is a rabbi.

Ezekiel is Golda's father and a grandmaster himself. He is generally regarded as a wise and instructive man. Before the New Kingdom of Simien came to be, he was frequently at odds with Israel's egotistical prime minister. Said character has yet to be revealed in the story, but even though he's no longer in power, he's still got enough sway in Simien's new government to weasel his way onto the men's team. If you've seen the team artworks, you probably have an idea who this character is, but if you haven't I won't spoil things here.

Getting back to Ezekiel, I meant to introduce him earlier, but never found the time until now. He's not going to have a role, say the size of Alya and Anastasia, but I at least wanted to introduce him before the round began. In fact, my goal is to introduce all the characters in the artworks, whether it be giving them just a few seconds of screentime, or a more outside role. But that's easier said than done as I keep making new teams each day. I'm finally capping out the women's teams, but the men's teams still have a ways to go as of the upload date of this chapter.

Getting back to the story, with Azenira out, it means either Iori has to get to the venue in time and even if she does, she'd have to play sick, which would give China a significant edge. But if the latter does come to pass, it means that all 4 of the games on the women's side will be shown. Get hyped because round 6 will be one of the most intense rounds thus far in the tournament.

Author's Commentary #333:

Time to talk about Chapter 333: A smooth act.
Yeah, this whole chapter is "Author's poorly disguised fetish". Bald milf Ichiko, even though she isn't a mother just yet, is here folks. Now before I talk more about her and Maida, let's talk about the new character introduced, Venera.

ベネラ・ソラヤ・シェフ (Venera-Soraya Shehu) is how Venera's name would be spelled in katakana.

Her birthday is May 30th, which is the day FaZe clan was first founded.

Her favorite piece is the queen because she thinks it's the most hardcore piece.

Soraya clan is essentially this world's equivalent of FaZe clan. Venera is one of the lead figures of it, and also one of Albania's top female players. Originally, I was actually planning to introduce a different character instead of her this chapter, but decided to go with her instead.

Getting back to Maida and Ichiko, the two had quite the high school experience, with Ichiko finding it humorous, and Maida hating every second of it. But with the events of this night, Maida now has a greater drive to improve her chess game. Ichiko will also be making more appearances in the story as well, so look forward to seeing her again.

And now, it's finally time for round 6. This is the final round before the Bermuda party and the first rest day. It also marks the half-way point in the tournament, meaning standings updates will be given following round 6's conclusion. This also means the series' 1 year anniversary will likely fall somewhere between round 6 and 7. It's wild to think about that this series will be a year old soon, but it will be. Speaking of years though, I don't think Season 7 will last an entire year, but it most certainly will come close to it, as the Season is still far from over. As for the one-year anniversary, I've already got a proper game planned for that day. Though we're not quite at the anniversary yet, I'd still like to thank everyone that's supported this series thus far. I hope you're looking forward to another year of it.

I totally understand. The contest really did come out of the blue. Still, I feel the angle of having the coffee shop be the end goal works good as well, perhaps even better, as now Stella's journey is shown, where-as in the original vision, I assume she'd be more so the character that solves problems with her unique perspective, rather than the focus being primarily on her.

Love the romance building between Stella and Shigure. Looks like this is the half-way point in the story, and I have to say, I'm a little surprised the coffee shop hasn't been opened yet. Going into this, I assumed the series would be more set in a coffee shop with the character of the week, so to say coming in and presenting their problems to Stella. That isn't to say I'm disappointed with the direction of the story. This past arc has been amazing, and I'm curious as to what will happen next. Though I feel the coffee shop will likely be the end goal now as opposed to what I thought it would be when I first started reading this.
