hmm, yes and no?
I’m used to writing longer (~3.5-7k) chapters, so that comes more naturally, and it was a (beneficial) exercise to work on shorter chapters (even if some got a bit longer than 1.5k 😅). But no, other than a couple instances where I played with the length, they weren’t long chapters that I cut in half just to fit the recommended size. Rather I tried to work with the approximate size and structure the sequences within that length, and some cliffhangers were placed intentionally, not just longer chapters halved later. Plus, the length gave me a nice size for the dream chapters where they could be a whole chapter without feeling drawn out/bloated or interrupted halfway.
