I am floored. Some of the nicest things someone has said to me about my work ever.
As for how long it took, since it was a short chapter, around 1-2 days, and working on it on and off. To practise to gain this level of writing - honestly - you learn from your peers by reading other people's work. Trust me. Read long enough and you will subconsciously incorporate their style of writing as well. It is just exposure. I got my start on fanfiction.net. My first fiction, my writing was utter crap. The hard truth is that writing takes a lot of time, especially English. Again, the brain works in mysterious ways. Expose yourself to enough English media, you will start to realise you are thinking in English. But otherwise - always practise by actually writing. There's no easy answer other than that.
