The first part was so beautifully hilarious. You really nailed down a grounded starry night and a group of young adults just going to experience it. The banter and the atmosphere made this world feel real, not just an imagining of it.

I would've really liked some more details about the headless figure though in the same vein as you did with the horse. The sudden sprint away definitely fits a reaction, but a more visceral appearance would've helped me feel the same horror, even if just brief descriptors
