The way you transitioned things from the inferno below, to the vast sky, and then suddenly back within Mother's embrace was absolute poetry. The struggle as she tried to fly invoked the image of Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service when she struggled to save Tombo mid-flight

Admittedly the tonal shift at the end confused me a little. A little transition or earlier hint toward it coming would've been nice to soften it a little.

The quiet moment earlier in the chapter was nice though. The DSLR camera constantly adds a groundedness to things
