Extra: on a side note, since is Yakuza related and tatts around the Yakuza have a strong meaning I suggest you to check the work of Horiyoshi the 3rd (who worked on lots of Yakuza members back in the early 80.) Horitomo uses a lot of Ukiyo-e influence aswell.
Strong prologue indeed, felt like John Wick meets Lost Boy (live action).
I would Say that, at least to me, that the pace and the type of narrative voice leans more towards a Novel than a Light Novel.
Also Ryu --> Ryuji ---> Ryu tatt. That's a Lot of Ryu, not that I complain of.
I'm kinda hooked, however I gotta say maybe making the descriptions a little shorter would make the story flow without sudden halts. Maybe leaving something to imagination.
Okay the beginning got me, killing the pres, I didn't see that coming haha.
The introduction to Kazuma and Arashi might feel slightly like info dump, specially given that his powers are explained nearly before his death but, as a first chapter it stablished the setting so I don't see that in a bad way.

Perfectly visual evoking descriptions, nothing more to add, I really like it!
THAT's an opening paragraph.
I like the cliffhanger at the end but unfinished sentences give me anxiety haha.

Great starting point! I don't consider the info dump as such tho. Judging this chapter alone I can see is a complex world and sometimes (this being one of those times) telling the reader how things are, right off the bat makes the story flow better. Here works pretty well.
Also to my preference I like to know everything about the world or nothing at all (i have no gray area) so that explanation sets the whole thing.
I think 'Negan' should have more space to develop in this chapter rather than moving the story. I felt the transition with him threathening Tian's father to shove one of his legs off (is not mentioned he already lacked one) to being Bai's menthor and 'father figure' is wrapped up too quickly.
The only thing that makes me scratch my head is his sister not reacting to his body state. So far is only the prologue so imma keep going, but, she simply reacting with annoyance slightly breaks the immersion.
