Haha, yup. That party was destiny waiting to happen for sure. But I was not expecting that reaction from the famous scholar... but that means that he does know a lot about the ring, so hopefully Rissa will get some answers and not be thrown into a cell in the dungeons...

Also, I really enjoy Rissa's voice; that snarky, dry humour is a delight to read.

Ok, first of all, the 'chicken spawn of Satan' had me laughing. As did the normal 'evil' chickens.
Anyway, great start, I already like Rissa and have a good grasp of who she is, and I loved the little twist of her already being isekaied. Really great start and I'm curious to see what'll be next for her. And I hope she'll bump into the mysterious, ring-gifting, and much too clever stranger once more -- soon.

Aw, I really like the development of Rina and Selene's relationship. That spontaneous handholding, and then the embrace when hiding from the drake. I particularly enjoy how puzzled Rina is by her emotions, and how being close to someone can be so comforting.

She might not be too thrilled about her new job as Goddess-impersonator, but she's got some really nice new colleagues.

The DEFILER??! Oh my god, poor dude. That's so horrible, and so hilarious. I almost feel bad for laughing... But just almost.

The Taku/Teri banter is brilliant, as always, and their personalities play very well against each other. And, I like the darker undertones that come with the necessary trust between them, now that we know Teri's back/stab/story...

Oh yes, there is a kind of corruption, and it's spreading fast. The natives think of it as a curse, Diane will see it as a disease, and the real answer... will be revealed eventually. ;)

I'm so glad you're enjoying the buildup and the 'loose ends'. I also like making speculations when reading, so I'd love to hear yours whenever you want to share.

Taku posing in his too small 'wizard's robe' is forever a classic now. Their budding bromance is as sweet and hilarious as before, but knowing Teri's recent, um, fallout with his irl friends, it packs an even bigger punch. The fact that he's willing to trust this goofy guy and risk another potential betrayal is very brave.

And on a side note, finding that discarded yarn gave me some Elder Scrolls vibes. That yarn is just everywhere -- except the one time you really need it. LoL

I guess she didn't really have any other choice than to accept. But I was proud of her for joining in the blood magic to help Aki stay alive, and Selene to stay strong. Part of me is now hoping her blood will have some magic, healing qualities... but then again, perhaps not.

Those pre-dawn intimate moments between her and Selene were very sweet, and I feel that they're getting over their rocky start and entering into friendship (or something more?)...

Uhu... so, being indirectly told to act as the goddess reborn is understandably uncomfortable. I wonder if it's a 'fake it until you make it' situation where she'll discover some powers or talents along the way... or if she'll find her way in this world as a 'mere' human...

I hope they'll find a proper cure for Aki soon too... but I doubt their journey to and over the mountains will go smoothly...

Hm, despite what Rina thinks, I don't think the others have agreed to ditch her at all... Karim being all awkward (starstruck?) is so sweet. And I really like Uruk too, so far. But it's going to take time for Rina to catch her footing, both in this group and this world.

The Asan hotel sounds really nice, and I hope they'll be safe there for some time at least. They all need some time to process what's happened. In different ways.

Naomi's subconscious is already hard at work. That was some nightmare! I really enjoy these little glimpses of her previous life.

Ugh, that little note on the assumed 'bestial instincts' and ancestors fucking cats and dogs was somehow both hilarious and so sad. Prejudices are nasty and petty things. And people, not just characters on a page, dying for real is heartbreaking and ugly. Great way of showing the other Asans' grief and resignation, it hits hard, especially with the kids chiming in.

I wonder how it'll go in the ethnic quarter.

I really like the methodical way Teri takes in the dungeon. Focusing on the senses one at a time is very efficient, and it felt very vivid.

And then: YES! Taku my GOAT!!!!! Loved their meeting, and the surprise on Taku's face when Teri told him he was aboard -- with no hesitation -- was so sweet. And his enthusiasm is so contagious.

Looking forward to following them (again) on their way to becoming ridiculously OP and meeting all the cat girlies.

Aster's connection to Diane will be revealed more clearly a few chapters from now, and her connection to this world a little later.

Ok, so I will try not to blabber too much about the magic system, but yes, it's very internal, always there. Connected to the soul. A bit like nen, since it will need a great deal of focus to actually do something with it. It also makes the magical abilities very personal, though there are some basic things (like making fire) that most people with magic will have learned to do. So while Diane has discovered that she has magic/mana, she can't use it for anything just yet.
