We're definitely operating on a 'hunger is the best sauce' here. Except for the fruits. They're way above any Earth store-bought fruits any day. But after that big adrenaline rush, and then walking for hours in the sun, anything would have tasted like a banquet, I'm sure. (I may also have watched a few too many survival shows where the contestants get all starry-eyed when they manage to find something to eat.)
You're totally right about the water though. I'm a little homeblind here, I think, because people do drink boiled lake water here when camping, if it's far away from any human houses or fields. But that's not the case in many parts of the world... Hm, I might put in a small creak or something, spilling into the lake, as moving water is a lot safer generally. Thanks for pointing it out. 💧
