This has a lot of mistakes, yeah, but I could still follow it. There are PUBLISHED books that are impossible to follow, so yeah. But definitely do double and triple-read, it'll help loads. Could even have AI do it for you if you're okay with that, just be careful of its weird additions, notably em dash overload.
The ending probably not... the most original but it did catch me off guard. Maybe make Hayato react to it more. Does he feel sick? Did any of the blood get in his mouth? Is he bad with blood? Perhaps he's feeling like he wants to faint, etc. How does Yuka feel, too? Is she worried the same might've happened to her own family?
Another thing, I think the tic-tac-toe game could be tightened a good amount to avoid repetition.
And no problem. I love beta-reading and having my own stuff beta-read. It may hurt a bit when people point out flaws, but it helps a lot in the long run. Keep writing! 🤗
