Wow, okay. That's a great ending. Absolutely perfect for this. With how much the overall story reminded me of the movie Shutter, I'd argue this actually has a better ending--a much bigger slap in the face to the protagonist, with the message that there are actions you just can't sweep under the rug.

Feels like Akari's a little too coherent for a mother who had just lost her son.

Bit weird to change to first-person narration at the very end.

The horror here wasn't really my type (I usually prefer paranormal horror to be more low-key), but it was written well, and the reveal certainly hit the right notes.
