Truth is, I’ve been a bit sick lately and haven’t written much, so I don’t think I’ll manage to finish this story before the end of the month. Kinda sucks, but I might just keep writing it anyway and expand it into something longer! I’m still really into the idea.
And yeah, I was honestly intimidated by the Japan setting too at first. But after doing some digging, I found out that (Yumi and the Nightmare Painter) which I loved, is an example of Japan/Korea-inspired, and that gave me some hope! I figured if I aim more for a vibe, like drawing from the culture, clothing, and architecture, without saying it’s actually Japan, then I don’t have to drown myself in research (though... I’m totally still researching anyway 😂).
Are you thinking of doing the romance one instead? I didn’t even realize it was supposed to be Romeo and Juliet-ish! That definitely makes it a bit trickier if that’s not your usual thing.
Whatever you decide, I’d honestly love to follow your story too. It’d be fun to read it from the beginning <3
