This chapter was pure emotion and adrenaline from start to finish.... the perfect payoff for all the buildup. šš„
The rescue itself had that wonderful mix of tension and humor that makes this series so fun to read. The sleepy guards, the whispered incantation, and then Meiruna casually busting out lockpicking skills like itās no big deal? Absolute gold. š
But the heart of this chapter, Glizzy and Luciusās reunion, was so well done. The way she doesnāt scold him but just believes in him hit hard. You can really feel how much Lucius needed that forgiveness. Her line, āIf I didnāt believe in youā¦ who else would?ā might be one of my favorite moments in the entire story so far... simple, but full of heart. ā¤ļø
And then that last scene?? The calm escape turning into a nightmare, the rain, the ledge, and the glimpse of those blood-red assassins hammering at the Headmasterās shield.... chills. I love how the decision lands squarely on Glizzy, the one who just got her freedom back. Itās such a poetic twist, sheās finally out, but her choice might drag them all back into the fire.
An emotional high point, a stealth thriller, and a setup for something way bigger... this chapter nailed every note. :)
