It's pretty meaningful that the first thing he does is apologize. It's an almost healthy maturity

When she said "How much do you hate me, brother?" I felt fifty different answers that could have left Lonni's lips 😆

same thing as my earlier comment: the wholesome reunion of the group being abruptly cut off by an external threat is really interesting for the world-building

The style, circumstances, and the way the narrator recounts his own situation, it reminds me a lot of Ellison's "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream." Regardless of what you were going for, I mean this in a good way

"The Lantern Children had seen the light, and became the light." ☺️

sam twenty years later: "was she flirting with me"

also, it's pretty meaningful that sam, despite how emotionally uneven he is has the restraint to resist vexia, especially with how attractive she's been described as being. nice little touch

A Lantern for the Hollow Quiver

Chapter:12

It was so wholesome until that woman started licking her lips 😭
Jokes aside, the release caused by a sudden threat after a good amount of buildup is well-executed here. It also highlights how little security there is in this world and that Sam and his friends are not always safe

A Lantern for the Hollow Quiver

Chapter:9

his biggest fear was not killing byleck but killing byleck and feeling nothing 😔 kind of scary in a subtle way

Good observation — and thank you. The world's structure will be the engine for most of the main events, so keep that in mind

Only One of Us is Winning

Chapter:11

To:Stoneflew

The point was to make emotional distress something literal, which comes to solidify in many different ways later. It is funny though, especially in retrospect
