I had the knowledge that Izanami and Izanagi were the creators of Japan and its elements, but seems Amaterasu is actually a... divorced parent daughter? Idk how I would call this 🤣. Wow this is incredibly complex information so thanks for enlightening me 🤩 when doing research I did not find something so specific, but it's basically that: Izanami and Izanagi married and gave birth to all of Japan elements and the deities (that's why the Amaterasu banter during the trial) until she gave birth to Kagutsuchi, burned and died. So Izanami went to rescue her but seeing she had become so ugly (how rude of him 😑) Izanagi runs away and locks the Underworld with a celestial stone. So Izanami started ruling the underworld and cursed Izanagi forever cause he did not rescue her. So the realization will come as I said, but put that last part in parallel with what's going on... you probably understand why "Izanami villain".
And yeah, that leech detail was pretty mysogonist (is that written correctly?) but well, nothing new in religions. Luckily there are many female depicted deities with great power and importance, too ❤️
