Yeeeee I’m starting to feel the disconnect.
An easy thing to do with time loopers is to show the looping process at the start, show their reaction, show their struggles, etc etc. It’s almost to the point of a cheap trick but it works. I assumed you deciding to flip the scrip is an attempt to go against that which I commend, but unfortunately it’s a bit lacking in compensation imo.
So we know Gideon can stop time and loop. Cool, makes him even more broken than the average time user. There’s a cap as well so that’s a safety bottleneck to prevent him from being OP. But that lies the problem: he doesn’t show enough insecurity to imply he’s been looping too many times, but he’s nowhere near OP enough (shown) to signify that he’s been looping a lot. It cheapens on both the mentor aspect (I saw one of your comments on being somewhat Frieren) and the relatability of the character, making him in this sort of awkward limbo between the two sides of inspiring and relatable
