I like the descriptions, but it's getting in the way of the flow of the story.
Chiffon is an interesting character, a shortsighted princess who seems to want to rebel against a male chauvinist hierarchy or way of thinking. But it's buried under long descriptions.
I think if you bring out her thoughts, actions, and behavior more pair it against what she is against, she will truly shine as a character.
