Agreed about storying-telling by committee. When you have a story based on checking off boxes while under pressure from the financial and marketing teams, you don't always get the best results. A lot of things play it safe nowadays, especially when budgets balloon to millions of dollars and the most important element of the story becomes return on investment. Those people definitely work hard and try to make the best of it, but storytelling suffers all the same. It's a good thing that the only limits in this contest are the word count and the prompts.
I'm glad that you're enjoying the prose. This chapter was one of the most important parts of the story, so it's great that people are enjoying it.
And I definitely had Stars War in mind with ol Franky - I just couldn't find a way to work in two more force ghosts to complete the scene
