Kururu will get better as the story goes on, trust. 😎 She’s just a bit chuuni right now, but I’m happy she’s still at least a bit lovable. But she was a good distance away from Jiro, so I wouldn’t be too sure *she* was the one who fired the gun… 👀

Writing fight choreography is difficult, I wonder how shonen authors are able to do it for fights that last several episodes. I feel like this small scene took so much planning already for me. 😩 But it was fun, I appreciate the kind words!

Interesting… Dr. Vex certainly seems an eccentric sort, but I’m having a hard time decided if he can be trusted or not. I wouldn’t be surprised if he turned out to be antagonistic, but the violet-eyed man knows something about the main character, nice development to look forward to!

For sure! The internal monologue coming up, along with the battle, should make Jiro’s feelings a little clearer on how *he* views things within the Digiscape. But with physical pain being a real risk as a Hunter, he has a lot to consider going forward.

This is easily my favorite chapter of the story so far, the song was beautfully written 🎵 Great use of the recording to paint a how picturesque the Union seemed to be. I understand much better why Dorian holds fast to those ideas of his.

I’m glad you’re enjoying it! When I was first planning out this story, I didn’t necessarily expect to take it in the dark fantasy route so soon, but the themes will be pretty heavy throughout. (with plenty of action to offset things 🥊) it’ll be a fight-filled race against the clock in the next chapter with some magical girl shenanigans.

This chapter just flew by, I’m loving the interactions between the crew, and Dax and Rhea both seem really supportive of the rookies in their own way. I’m curious if you’ve had this story outlined for a while or if this is off-the-cuff stuff, because it’s been really well crafted so far. I write chapters moment to moment, personally. (sometimes it gets me in trouble from a narrative stand-point on a first draft 😅)

If I had to describe my feelings while reading this so far it has been “surreal” in a word, but I don’t mean that in a bad way. You take good care in explaining the main characters feelings in their abstractness, i like the direction so far.
