Cyan, magenta and yellow… seems like there’s a colour missing. I’m guessing this means that “black magic” is gonna be a major plot point down the line

Having her give him the chocolates on Valentine’s Day is a nice touch, I love my Valentine’s Day confession trope.

MC’s internal conflict between the logic he’s been drilled with his whole life and the feelings he’s only just awakening to is done very well. Really feels like someone who’s emotions and logic are at war with each other.

Something I find interesting about the Romeo and Juliet thing is that you could still spin it to be an “emotions get in the way of logic” argument without condemning R&J. Instead of their love driving them to suicide, it could be said that the hate of their families killed them.

Cute ending. I should guessed that there’d be a character called “black” as the inverse of “white.”

I kinda expected this to be the cliche ‘actually, now that I’ve spent time with you all I’m gonna join your club instead’ ending. Colour me pleasantly surprised that Shirona actually retains her interest in botany

I'm guessing that the smashing noise Ekko made last chapter was her replacing MCs pills with fakes or something. That being said, it's incredibly funny that the first things he thinks after getting off his pills are "this food tastes shit and I like Ekko's boobs"

I like that Ekko's speech patterns separate her so much from everyone else. MC and his sister talk in such a clinical and straightforward way, but Ekko stutters and beats around the bush a lot. Even down to the punctuation choices, it does a really good job of making that divide between her and everyone else.

"Of course she's taking her pills, we couldn't be speaking otherwise." <-- I'll be interested to try to figure out the connotations of this. Obviously MC knows that people off their pills aren't completely unable to speak English since he met the guy on the bus, so it's interesting to think of the other possible implications

Ok so I finally actually got around to reading the chapter, and I’m realising something. Your sense of humour is more Kaabii than mine. Your main character’s inner monologue has the same dry sarcasm and snarky comments that I make literally all the time. It’s like reading my own mind in someone else’s words

Not just erasing emotions, but even culture through language. This world truly does seem like a terrible place to live.

Considering MC seemed stressed almost to the point of breakdown before taking the pills in chapter 1, I wonder if the constant repression of emotion means that it comes through too much when suppressed. If so, Ekko’s seemingly distressed and erratic behaviour would make a lot of sense
