Author's Commentary #88:
Time to talk about Chapter 88: The Headmaster selection skill test and interview.
Unlike the previous chapter, this one is 100% remake original and doesn't feature any reused lines from the original. I did however, want Rika out of the running so I had to get creative with how to disqualify her. Sure enough, paperwork was her big weakness and since Rebelle remembered that, Rika's chances were doomed.
Mochi was actually number one on the list, even though she didn't try. The reason for that was because the proctors were trying to woo her back into the culinary world by any means necessary. Mochi anticipated that, which is why she secretly streamed her interview and proceeded to go off on the interviewers. When the video went viral, the Tabemono commission had no choice but to fail her or face public allegations of corruption. Though in reality, the other competitors were glad Mochi was taken out of contention, as if Mochi decided to take things seriously, she'd win the whole thing.
